Micro-breweries, fruit juice production, open-air vegetable-growing, aquaponics, insect farming, meat processing…: local food is undergoing a definite revival and numerous initiatives are emerging in the Brussels Region.

 

To raise the profile of food of local origin among consumers, 21 Solutions and its partner Alimentation 21 asbl were tasked with studying the feasibility of a label for these regional food products and its associated standards.

 

Meetings with producers and processors helped define the approximate shape of a future label in line with realities on the ground. The study’s findings have been submitted to the Brussels-Capital Region.
