MOVE-IT: eco-management in tourism

MOVE-IT: eco-management in tourism

Methodology

How can eco-management be stimulated in the tourism sector? To encourage regional players to register their products and services in an EMAS (Eco-Management Audit Scheme) and/or Green Key cluster approach, 21 Solutions performed a study and support assignment which led to the development of a specific methodology.

The principle is to group together SMEs operating in a region to develop a competitive overall service offering, linking cultural, economic, ecological and social aspects.

The approach also aims to go beyond the traditional implementation of EMAS by providing specific metrics for social, health and economic issues, while also forging links with other labels at local and regional level (Green Key, Ecolabel, Biohotel, the Ecodynamic Label).
