Brussels Town Hall – one of the glories of Belgium’s heritage and a masterpiece of Gothic architecture – has evolved continuously since its construction began in 1405 right through to the present day. By turns enlarged, remodelled, bombarded and consumed by fire, rebuilt, transformed, neglected and restored, this monument has been the object of admiration throughout the centuries.

The history of this iconic building was examined in depth in three years of archaeological and historical research coordinated by 21 Solutions. The research was the subject of an international colloquium whose proceedings have been published in a landmark volume.
