For several years now, 21 Solutions has been supporting local multi-stakeholder participatory processes set up for various Sustainable District Contracts, in the diagnostic and/or implementation phase. Sustainable District Contracts are concluded between the Region, a municipality and the residents of a Brussels district, and this urban regeneration and renovation programme of the Brussels Region has proved valuable. In particular, the focus is on developing housing, redesigning public spaces, rehabilitating heritage, developing local facilities and infrastructure and supporting grassroots initiatives to improve the living environment and social cohesion.
In the Abbaye district of the municipality of Forest, 21 Solutions designed and implemented various participatory approaches in conjunction with the international non-profit organisation Periferia to arrive at a diagnosis and work out project proposals by coordinating the different stakeholders in a learning process.
