How can encouragement be given for the development of projects promoting biodiversity and the linking together of green spaces? How can the Brussels Ecological Network be reinforced? Brussels Environment has tasked 21 Solutions with addressing these questions as part of the Regional Nature Plan. This aims to reconnect green spaces, develop biodiversity and nature and improve the quality of life in the city.

Set up in five districts representing the diversity of urban development in Brussels, this pilot project focuses on public green spaces next to roads and buildings (green façades, green roofs, areas in front of buildings), and abandoned spaces, including large private gardens within blocks of housing.

21 Solutions has designed the participatory process in order to consult the stakeholders, make a useful contribution to the diagnosis of problems, set ecological objectives, design projects documented in feasibility studies and carry out innovative ecological adaptations, in conjunction with the consultancy firms BRAT, Ecorce and Plant & Houtgoed.
